BOLO Steak & Seafood is the younger, over-achieving sister restaurant of OSO at Bear Point Harbor. At BOLO, we focus on serving high-quality, chef-driven dishes and craft cocktails using locally sourced ingredients, all in a relaxed atmosphere.
Chef Wesley Brothers is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and has lived on the Gulf Coast for the past 20 years. A 2001 graduate of the Johnson and Wales culinary program, Chef Wes gained experience in several James Beard-nominated kitchens, including working as a sous chef to Chef Bill Briand at Fisher’s Upstairs in Orange Beach Marina.
He also worked under Chef Jonathan Kastner at Anchor Bar and owned a local-favorite foodtruck, The Gnarwhal. Chef Wes’s food is ingredient and technique-driven, fusing his Southern roots with world food styles.
Located on the intersection of Canal Road and Wilson Boulevard, BOLO occupies one of the oldest buildings in Orange Beach.
Originally constructed in 1938, the BOLO building operated for decades as the only general store and gas station in Orange Beach, called “The Korner Store”.
The name “BOLO” means Bear On the Lookout – an homage to the Bear Point area of Orange Beach in which we are located.
Bear Point was known since its original Creek Indian settlement days to have a large population of black bears, which have gone away with the development of the city.
We pay homage to these bears with our name and logo, as well as our mascot, Bearry Garcia, who resides outside of OSO at Bear Point Harbor.
